Kai is one of the top punters in school history and has served as the starting punter since his arrival on campus in 2020.  He earned All-SEC and All-America honors in 2022 and All-SEC again in 2024.  He holds the University of South Carolina record for single season punt average (47.83 yards) and was ranked as the #2 punter in the SEC and #6 overall punter in college football in 2024.  He is also considered one of the nation's top holders.  

Kai is also known for his game changing ability to execute fake punts and onside kicks, completing 7 or 10 passes over his career for 205 yards and 3 touchdowns.  He successfully converted an innovative drop kick helicopter onside kick against Alabama in 2024.
